Richie Murray - Amateur Scottish Composer
Hi! I'm Richie Murray, an amateur composer and pianist from Glasgow, Scotland. Most of my compositions are very simple piano pieces written and arranged for learner keyboard players at beginner level. I get my inspiration from many things, but mainly Scottish places and people. You can hear excerpts from some of my compositions at TheSixtyOne Latest News - March 2010Following my father being contacted by a company of heir hunters and me spending a lot of time researching our genealogy on the official Scotland's People web site, I've started work on a new piano composition called 'Family Trees'. I'm off to West Africa on business again this month. Maybe this will provide me with some new musical inspiration. I'm also further developing and refining the collection of short piano pieces called 'The Loch Ard Suite' that I've dedicated to the memory of my parents-in-law. The pieces relate to places and views around Loch Ard and The Pass of Aberfoyle that were much loved by them and other family members. These are 'The Ben' (Ben Lomond), 'The Narrows', 'Duke Murdoch's Island' and 'The Pass'. |
